    The Office of Prime Minister Haider Abadi revealed a system of monitoring and international experts, to combat corruption in the coming period.
    A spokesman for Prime Minister Saad al-Hadithi's media office said in a television interview on Wednesday that "Iraq has suffered during the past period from the infamy of terrorism and corruption," pointing out that "corruption is no less dangerous than terrorism in its destructive effects on the Iraqi economy" .
    He explained that "the efforts of the government in the next phase to complete its plan of combating corruption and combating this phenomenon and to take serious measures in this direction."
    He pointed out that "the government is conducting a process of continuous review and evaluation of the important joints in the institutions of the state."
    "There is support from the Iraqi judiciary to take serious measures in this direction, and there is the Supreme Council for Combating Corruption, where the development of an integrated strategy, as the government launched in previous years, but because of the security and economic conditions, there was no possibility of reaching them to the maximum" .
    "The government is now drawing on international advice and experts in this regard," he said.
    Al-Hadithi said that "the coming period will witness important achievements in this direction and citizens will take serious steps."
    Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi stressed the importance of fighting corruption, exposing corruption and eradicating all manifestations of corruption in government circles and institutions.
