Warned a number of farmers in the province of Dhi Qar, the continuation of the water crisis in the province, threatened to go out with demonstrations against the local government to find a solution to the crisis.
"The scarcity of water has greatly affected agricultural crops north of Nasiriyah, where a lot of land has been damaged during the winter season," said Abdul Hadi al-Shuwaili, a farmer's representative in the north of Dhi Qar province.
"We have received many complaints, in which the peasants stressed the damage of their agricultural crops and land damage due to the continued shortage of irrigation water, which threatens large areas of agricultural land north of the province."
"Continuing neglect leads to crop loss, a severe agricultural deficit and a rise in vegetable prices, where demonstration will be our only option to get our rights fully."
The agricultural land in the province of Dhi Qar suffers from a severe drought, due to lack of water and lack of rain, and this threatens to lose large areas of agricultural land.
