WASHINGTON (Reuters) - North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has insulted him as "old" and will never describe Kim as "short and fat," US President Donald Trump said in a tweet on Twitter.
Trump wrote the tweet after attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit meeting in Vietnam.
Trump also said in a series of tweets that Chinese President Xi Jinping is "stepping up sanctions" on North Korea in response to its nuclear and missile programs and that Shi wants Pyongyang to "nuclear disarmament."
"Why does Kim Jong-un insult me as an old man while I will never describe him as short and fat?" Trump wrote on Twitter on Sunday morning during a tour of Asia. Well, I'm trying hard to be his friend and maybe that will happen someday. "
Trump exchanged insults and threats with Kim in the past amid mounting tensions over Pyongyang's nuclear and missile programs.
