[ltr]James Matisse, the US Defense Secretary, confirmed that his country's troops would not withdraw from Syrian territory before the end of the Geneva process and complete the settlement in Syria.[/ltr]
[ltr]"We will not simply offer to withdraw from Syria, we will not withdraw before the Geneva results start, and we will get some of our forces out of Syria, but we will link this with a package of conditions," he told reporters.[/ltr]
[ltr]On the level of his country's steadfastness in the areas of stopping the escalation and spreading it to the rest of Syria in light of the recent Russian-American memorandum, he considered that it is not possible to pour special molds for these areas because of their differences.[/ltr]
[ltr]"The Russian military police are deployed in the area of stopping the escalation in south-west Syria, but each region has its own specificity. This means that it is not possible to generalize what is embodied in south-west Syria in all its regions."[/ltr]
