    [ltr]TEHRAN (Reuters) - The town of Azkala in the western province of Kermanshah has been destroyed by 80 percent of the earthquake that hit Iraq and Iran on Sunday evening, according to reports reported by Iranian media.[/ltr]
    [ltr]"Reports indicate that about 80 percent of the housing units in the town of Azkala in the province of Kermanshah in western Iran have been destroyed by the strong earthquake that hit the region on Sunday evening," the Fars News Agency reported.[/ltr]
    [ltr]"The latest death toll of the earthquake victims is 430 people, while the number of injured is 7,718," the agency said, adding that "rescue and rescue teams continue their operations to search for possible survivors under the rubble as well as the exhumation of dead bodies and treatment of the wounded."[/ltr]
    [ltr]"According to the directives of the leader of the Islamic Revolution Ali Khamenei, the various military and civilian institutions mobilized their energies for relief and rescue operations in the quake-hit areas," she said.[/ltr]
    [ltr]A magnitude 7.3 earthquake hit Iraq on Sunday evening (12 November 2017), 103 kilometers south-east of the city of Sulaymaniyah. The epicenter of the earthquake was followed by violent aftershocks in Iraqi cities including the capital, Baghdad, in a rare phenomenon in the country. West of Iran at the border with Iraq and its center is 5 km from the city of Azkla, and 122 km from the city of Kermanshah, the center of the province.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Most of the material and human damage occurred in the cities of Azkala, Sarbil, Shireen, Islamabad, West, and Karnad in Iran.[/ltr]
