    "Overflow on water quotas has led to lower water discharges and levels throughout the province," Kanani said. 
    He explained that "the discharge of the Euphrates River scheduled to enter from the province of Muthanna to the province of Dhi Qar range between 90 - 100 cubic meters / second, but the current discharges estimated at 68 cubic meters / second," pointing out that "Muthanna province exceeds the share of the province more than 20 cubic meters / second ".
    The director of water resources in Dhi Qar, "the impact of the agricultural plan for the winter season of these abuses and the areas of the marshes where it was planned to allocate 70 percent of water from Muthanna province to the areas of the marshes." 
    The central administration of the Chabaish district has warned of the dangers of drought and water scarcity on the marshes, while the central provinces have been accused of bypassing the water reserves of the southern governorates and the marshes, calling on the House of Representatives to legislate a law to protect marshes and preserve water levels and revive life there.
