The United Nations announced on Thursday that the blockade of the Saudi alliance against Yemen has prevented the arrival of humanitarian aid since the beginning of November.
"Ships and aircraft carrying humanitarian supplies have not been able to reach Yemen since the siege began, due to the continued closure of all air, sea and land ports," Farhan Haq, deputy spokesman of UN Secretary-General Farhan Haq, told the UN headquarters in New York.
The spokesman warned of running out of fuel to run hospital generators, pumping clean water in less than three weeks, and running out of vaccines for the treatment of diphtheria (respiratory epidemic) within two weeks.
"The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that as of last Sunday, there were more than 925,000 cases of suspected cholera in Yemen, with the deaths of more than two thousand and 200 people.
This month, the leadership of the Saudi Alliance announced the closure of all ports to and from Yemen, temporarily, against the background of the launch of the Houthis a ballistic missile towards Riyadh airport, two days earlier.
Last Monday, a statement issued by the Saudi mission to the United Nations announced the resumption of the opening of all ports in areas controlled by the legitimate government of Yemen within 24 hours.
