About 63 aircraft pass through Iraqi airspace daily

The General Establishment of Civil Aviation announced on Thursday that the number of aircraft crossing the Iraqi airspace reached (1877) aircraft during the month of June, or about 63 aircraft per day.
"The Iraqi airspace is open to all international civil aircraft and all airlines wishing to cross their aircraft to Iraqi airspace," the Ministry of Transport said.
"The airlines of the neighboring countries prefer to use the Iraqi airspace to shorten the distances and time and to provide better service to its passengers," he said, adding that "the number of aircraft is increasing continuously."
He explained that "the monitoring of the numbers of aircraft transiting the Iraqi airspace through the reliance on data entry data in the Air Control Department of the Civil Aviation Authority."
