Iraqi commodity imports from Iran rose during the seven months from March 21 to October 22, 2017, 12% year-on-year, according to IRNA.
Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Mujtaba Khosrotaj said on Wednesday that Iraq imported from Iraq during the period, worth 4 billion dollars (4.76 trillion Iraqi dinars).
Khosrotag stressed the importance of the Iraqi market in the development of Iranian exports, pointing to its role in facilitating the arrival of his country's trade to the markets of Syria and Lebanon, hoping for a greater increase in Tehran's commodity exports to Baghdad.
Khosrotag's remarks came during a meeting to discuss and study the launching of a joint border market with Iraq, in which he pointed out that Iraq is the second country after China in the field of Iranian exports.
