The General Company of Iraqi Railways - the Division of Umm Qasr railway on Friday transported 110 containers with its specialized trucks from the port of Umm Qasr in Basra to the Mark Shalajip in Baghdad.

The company's general manager, Engineer Salam Jabr said in a statement that this work comes as a result of the concerted efforts of workers in the Basra region and the central transport, operation and control of the arrival of goods quickly and safely.

Jabr added that there is a demand for the carriage of goods by rail due to the appropriate wages and competition with the private sector because of the advantages of the railway in transport as the company is the national carrier in the country.
