A US court indicted a Texas woman last year for sending packages containing improvised explosive devices to a number of government officials, including former US President Barack Obama.

According to the New York Daily News, a Houston court directed Julia Bove, 46, to charges after the authorities proved that the woman sent in October 2016 packages containing unexploded explosive devices to the then US President , Obama, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, as well as the former head of the US Department of Social Welfare, Carolyn Colvin.

The newspaper pointed out that one of the parcels allocated to the governor of Texas, arrived at the address of the addressee opened by Abbott himself, noting that it was not damaged because the package did not do during the opening.

According to the allegation, the women sent the parcels to the state governor and the former president because they did not like her. As for Kolvin and Bove, the packages were sent to them to deprive them of social benefits.

Investigators were able to prove the identity of the sender, in particular, through hair found in one of the parcels back to the fur of a cat, which later turned out to be POV's possession.

Women face charges of sending hazardous materials by mail, with the aim of causing harm or killing, as well as other charges.
