Saudi Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, shocked Tehran as Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, as "the new Hitler."
Tehran was quick to respond with angry statements that included an attack on the prince, whose policies raise concern for Iran.
The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Bahram Kassem, remarks (we are not mentioned) reflect the magnitude of the shock that hit the mullahs.
In an interview with the New York Times, Khamenei described Khamenei as "the new Middle East Hitler" and called for confronting Iran's expansionism in the region.
"But we have learned from Europe that the painkillers do not work. We do not want the new Hitler in Iran to repeat in the Middle East, as happened in Europe."
