    The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Iraqi government are planning to organize a conference of the preparatory elites in Baghdad on 11-12 December, which is a prelude to holding the Iraqi National Reconciliation Conference to be held in the next stage.
    "The preliminary conference aims at raising the participants' ideas and recommendations to the General Conference of National Reconciliation, in order to build reconciliation on community participation among the different segments of Iraqi society," the Islamic News Agency (IANS) said in a news item.
    "The convening of the reconciliation conference comes at a time when Iraq has begun to recover from the threat of terrorism after the liberation of all Iraqi territory from an encouraging organization. The time has come to move towards a comprehensive national reconciliation leading to a new phase that attaches the utmost importance to the stage of construction and national unity. Stability and prosperity ".
    "A number of high-profile individuals with a high level of knowledge and belonging to a wide range of intellectual, cultural and community backgrounds are participating in the preparatory elites' conference, providing all the required views on relevant issues to create a solid environment for national reconciliation.
    In 2006, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) organized the Mecca 1 Conference on Iraqi National Reconciliation, which included sheikhs and religious scholars representing the various spectrums of the Iraqi people.
