The Israeli army announced on Wednesday the state of "maximum alert" following the decision of US President Donald Trump to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the transfer of the US Embassy to it.
The IDF leadership recommended that the various military units be ready to move them at any moment to the Palestinian territories, in anticipation of the outbreak of confrontations during the events of anger at the decision of Trump.
These decisions came at the end of discussions held by the General Staff of the Israeli army, during which they discussed the chances of deteriorating security conditions in the coming days.
The Palestinian factions are preparing to organize large demonstrations in response to the decision of Trump, which is expected to turn into confrontations.
According to Israel's Channel 2 television, the army discussed various possible options that may be seen in the cities and villages of the West Bank and Gaza following such a decision.
The channel said that the command of the General Staff issued instructions to the army units that are engaged in training may be called in a hurry if things deteriorate.
