    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Gold fell more than 1 percent on Thursday, hitting a four-month low as US stocks and the US dollar rallied on optimism of a US tax reform. 
    Spot gold fell 1.38 percent to $ 1246.31 an ounce in late US trade, the lowest level since August 8.

    US gold futures for February delivery fell 13 dollars or 1 percent to settle at $ 1253.10 an ounce.

    The dollar index touched a two-week high on Monday with optimism that the United States will push ahead with tax reform by the Dec. 22 deadline.

    Among other precious metals, silver fell 1.73 percent to $ 15.69 an ounce, its lowest level since mid-July.

    Platinum fell 1.02 percent to $ 892.50 an ounce after hitting its lowest level since July 11th at $ 889.50. The metal lost about 5 percent this week and is heading for the biggest weekly loss in nine months.

    Palladium rose 1.84 percent to $ 1011.80 an ounce.
