Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi are to discuss the repercussions of the United States recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
A statement issued by the Egyptian presidency said that the upcoming meeting between Abbas and al-Sisi in Cairo will discuss "ways to deal with the crisis in a manner that preserves the rights of the Palestinian people and their national sanctities and their legitimate right to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital."
