    The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers ratified the final version of the Industrial Cities Law, which was prepared by the Ministry of Industry and Minerals in coordination with the Ministry of Planning and after discussion by the three bodies in the State Consultative Council and the Legal Department of the Secretariat. 

    "The ministry has formed a team comprising the director general of the legal department in the ministry and the director general of the General Directorate for Industrial Development and a representative of the legal department in the Directorate for the purpose of discussing the paragraphs of the law," Minister of Industry and Agency Mohamed Shiaa al-Sudani said in a statement. The State Consultative Council with its three bodies to discuss and prepare the final draft of the law and submit it to the legal department in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, which in turn proposed a number of amendments that the ministry dealt with accordingly and sent the final version of the law, B formal ".

    He pointed out that "this law is considered an important economic law at the present time due to the urgent need to legislate to regulate the establishment, development and management of industrial cities in accordance with modern experiences and organization of the work of developers and investors in Iraq, similar to the countries of the world and neighboring countries as well as to encourage and expand private investment and strengthen the economy Attracting foreign investment, creating jobs and achieving sustainable development. " 

    He explained that "the law will contribute to give the legal basis to invest these cities and employment to attract industrial projects and the operation of local labor and eliminate unemployment, especially with a comprehensive plan for the establishment and implementation of an industrial city in each of the provinces of Iraq."

    Al-Sudani said that the General Directorate for Industrial Development is currently supervising the implementation of two industrial cities in Basra and Dhi Qar provinces with a completion rate of 54.8% and 78% respectively. (950) industrial partition for small and medium industries and in two stages, including the construction of sewage and heavy water and treatment units and liquidation and water and electricity networks and the Internet and lighting and communications and power stations, etc. The industrial city in the province of Basra on an area of ​​(200) (60) divider Industrial and in three stages, including the implementation of the external fence and the work of roads and the building of administration and information and networks of sewage and raw water and rain and fire and electrical work and others.
