Thousands of people demonstrated in the US capital, Washington, to express their rejection of the recognition of US President Donald Trump, Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The demonstration was held on Sunday near the White House, the American Council of Islamic Organizations, and participated in many groups, Islamic and non-Islamic.
The protesters raised a huge 50-meter-long Palestinian flag, calling for freedom for Palestine and the end of the Israeli occupation.
The demonstrators, who came to Washington from several states, also shouted against the US president.
In a speech during the demonstration, the Secretary General of the "American Council of Islamic Organizations," Osama Jamal, criticized Trump's decision, and called on the world to unite towards this step of the American administration.
On December 6, US President Donald Trump announced his country's formal recognition of East Jerusalem as its capital and the start of the transfer of his country's embassy to the occupied city.
The American decision was met with Arab and Islamic rejection and anger, international concern and warnings.
