Egyptian Suez Canal revenues drop to $ 462.7 million in November
Economy News Baghdad:
Egypt's revenues from the Suez Canal fell to $ 462.7 million in November from 473.9 million in October, official data showed on Wednesday.
On a year-on-year basis, Suez Canal revenues increased in November from the same month last year to $ 389.2 million.
The Suez Canal, which is 192 kilometers long, shortens the journey between Asia and Europe by about 15 days on average.
In the whole of 2016, revenues from the Suez Canal fell 3.3 percent to $ 5.005 billion, according to Reuters calculations, compared with $ 5.175 billion in 2015.
The Suez Canal Authority expects revenues from ships to rise to $ 13.2 billion annually by 2023.
