    Follow-up / Sky Press:

Human Rights Watch said it was time for the United Nations to impose sanctions on Saudi Crown Prince Prince Mohammed bin Salman as responsible for abuses in the Yemen war.

The organization considered that the place of Ibn Salman is "on the list of Security Council sanctions and not in Time magazine as the figure of the year," because he is primarily responsible for the continuation of the humanitarian disaster in Yemen, he said.

In a statement, the organization said in a statement that the prominent role played by Ibn Salman as defense minister of the country leading the military alliance in Yemen makes him responsible for violations of international law committed by this alliance.

Human Rights Watch said that the Saudi Crown Prince should not be free to do such acts, but he and other senior coalition leaders should face international sanctions.

She added that the Security Council has the power to impose sanctions on anyone who violates the laws of war, and that this requirement applies to the leaders of the coalition, including Ibn Salman.

The organization warned against continuing to defend Saudi policy, "because that will leave millions of Yemenis in the grip of death and misery." She said that Ibn Salman should not be able to cover up violations by talking about reforms at home.
