[ltr]The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on Saturday identified three tracks to counter US President Donald Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and move the US embassy to it, while insisting on continuing its strong movement to force the US administration to back down.[/ltr]
[ltr]The leader of the movement, and a member of its political bureau, Osama Hamdan, told the Anatolia news agency, which was seen by Mawazin News, that "the three basic tracks must be followed to address the American decision on the city of Jerusalem," explaining that "the first track relates to field work, To face the decision on the ground, through the uprising and steadfastness of the Palestinian people. "[/ltr]
[ltr]Hamdan added that "this path has proved to be a gadwa in previous stations."[/ltr]
[ltr]"The second track concerns the support of the Arab and Islamic nations and the world's liberals and their positions, which believe that this decision is really raping," he said, pointing out that "the third track is diplomatic and it is necessary to focus on it."[/ltr]
[ltr]He stressed that "the movement of Hamas in its strong movement to force the US administration to retreat from its decision."[/ltr]
[ltr]On the vote of 128 countries in the United Nations in favor of a resolution that refuses to change the reality of Jerusalem, Hamdan expressed "his belief that the diplomatic side is very important," noting that "35 countries abstained in the United Nations session and is required to complete the movement towards it."[/ltr]
[ltr]"We believe that these countries expressed their rejection of the decision of US President Donald Trump, but revealed the pressure on them."[/ltr]
[ltr]US President Donald Trump acknowledged Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel on Wednesday, 6 December 2017, saying "the time has come to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel."[/ltr]
[ltr]Trump added that his declaration marks the beginning of a new approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, stressing that Jerusalem will become the seat of the Israeli government, the Knesset and the Supreme Court.[/ltr]
