    [rtl]Mubasher: World markets will start trading on the new year next Tuesday after a holiday on Monday to celebrate the beginning of 2018.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Markets are resuming after the Christmas Day lull, with US jobs data and eurozone inflation reported.[/rtl]

    World markets are set to celebrate the start of the new year on Monday, with some markets resuming trading on Tuesday.
     
    In Japan, the official holiday will continue until the end of Wednesday, and will resume trading starting next Thursday, where the celebration of what is known as the holiday "4 days in banks."
     
    In the year 2017, the Nikkei rose about 20%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average recorded an annual gain of 25.1%. The Standard & Poor's Index recorded the best annual performance since 2013.
     
    In Europe , equity indexes have the best annual performance since 2013.
     
    [size=17]Inflation in the Eurozone[/size]
     
    The euro zone will release inflation data for the month of December, with expectations of a slowdown.
     
    The eurozone consumer price index rose 1.5% last November.
     
    While the core inflation rate, excluding food and energy prices, stabilized at 0.9%.
     
    While the December forecast indicates that the Eurozone inflation rate will slow at 1.4%.
     
    [size=17]US Jobs Data[/size]
     
    In the US, the monthly job report will be released on Friday, revealing the unemployment rate and the number of jobs added by the economy in December.
     
    On the unemployment level, expectations are that it will settle at 4.1%.
     
    As for the number of jobs added, the expectations are negative to retreat to 189 thousand jobs, compared to 228 thousand new jobs in November.

    The Federal Reserve will unveil the minutes of its last meeting in December next Wednesday.
     
    The US central bank decided in December to raise the interest rate for the last time and the third in 2017 to the level of 1.25% to 1.50%.
     
    The Fed releases its meeting minutes two weeks after the monetary policy meeting.
     
    The new Federal President, Jerome Powell, is due to take office in February.
