The Iranian General Director of Ports and Maritime Navigation in the city of Khorramshahr, Mohammad Mohseni, announced that during the nine months of the Iranian year, which starts on March 21, 626,228 tons of goods have been exported from the port of Khorramshahr to Iraq.
"During the same period, 306 thousand and 601 tons of goods were exported to Kuwait, an increase of 13 percent over the same period last year," Mohseni said.
He pointed out that "goods exported from the port of Khorramshahr are mostly construction materials and minerals, vegetables and animal feed."
"During this period, 634,997 tonnes of clinker (raw material for cement) were exported to Kuwait and Iraq," he said.
Mohseni pointed out that "with the inauguration of the shipping line between the port of Khorramshahr and the port of Sohar in the Sultanate of Oman earlier this week, the volume of non-oil exports from the port of Khorramshahr to the Persian Gulf countries."
It is noteworthy that the port of Khorramshahr is one of the strategic Iranian ports due to its proximity to Iraq and is expected to have a bright future in the presence of the borders of the Arround Free Trade Zone and its proximity to the refinery Abadan and factories of Khuzestan steel industry.
