Economy News _ Baghdad Oil prices rose to a two-year high of $ 68 a barrel on Tuesday, ahead of the release of preliminary US inventory data. By 7:25 am GMT, the futures contract was up 0.6% at $ 68.21 a barrel and the price of NYMEX crude futures was up $ 0.5 / bbl at $ 62.23 a barrel. Later in the day, preliminary data from the US Petroleum Institute are due to be released. OPEC said yesterday it would not raise crude output with the turmoil in Iran and the economic crisis in Venezuela and that the policy of OPEC remains the same unless large and long delays on supplies. |
