The Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned the US embassy's adviser to Ankara, Philippe Kosnet, for the second time in the last 24 hours, the Turkish daily Hurriyet reported.
The newspaper quoted a diplomatic source that the recall is linked to the warning of the US State Department, which called on American citizens to refrain from traveling to Turkey for security reasons.
The source added that Ankara expressed its dissatisfaction with Kosnet in this regard, describing the information of the US authorities on the situation in Turkey as "inaccurate". It is noteworthy that these events may lead to the continued escalation of tension in relations between the two countries, which are still in a serious crisis.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry had previously summoned Kusnit on Wednesday because of US military aid to the Kurdish-Syrian protection forces, which Turkey regards as a terrorist organization linked to its outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
The US State Department has recommended that its citizens refrain from traveling to Turkey because of the terrorist threat and unjustified arrests, after having put them on the list of dangerous countries along with Pakistan, Sudan and Guatemala.
In response, the Turkish Foreign Ministry warned its citizens against traveling to the United States and urged them to avoid this for security reasons.
