[rtl]Mubasher: Investors in Japan continue to sell their holdings of US Treasuries for the second straight month in November, driven by higher hedging costs and increased yields on short-term US bonds.[/rtl]

[rtl]Funds from the Asian nation sold 1.2 trillion yen ($ 10.8 billion) of US bonds last November, compared with a 2.1 trillion yen sale in October, according to data released by the Japanese Finance Ministry on Friday. "Bloomberg".[/rtl]

[rtl]The drop in US bond purchases was attributed to rising currency hedge fund costs as well as uncertainty about the US tax bill and the issue of Russian intervention in US elections.[/rtl]

[rtl]The yield on US bonds in November rose 16 basis points for two years and three years, while the yield on 10-year bonds rose by 3 basis points.[/rtl]

[rtl]Japanese investors sold US bonds at 3.36 trillion yen in the first 11 months of last year, according to the statement.[/rtl]
