Commenced and the Ministry of Water Resources, Wednesday, releases winter season water for about 6.5 million acres of land devoted to agriculture within the plan marked.
The Ministry of Water resource add about 30 thousand new agricultural acres to plan the coming winter season to become Iraq's total agricultural area of 6.0004 million thousand acres.
The general director of running projects in the ministry Ali Hashim "The ministry began this morning releases Raya germination for the winter marked on the pan of the Tigris River."
Hashim added that "water releases will provide at least 140 m3 / s of water in the Gharraf River," noting that "water releases included about 6.5 million acres of land."
The rain fell during the past winter in large proportions in most of the Iraqi provinces, which shares in the fullness of all the dams set up by the Ministry of Water Resources in many provinces, especially those that have been suffering from water shortages during the summer season.
