The judiciary: the director of Iraqi Airways seized Arab companies

    Baghdad / Range

The Integrity Court yesterday charged the deputy director-general of Iraqi Airways with charges of extorting Arab companies and compensating them for money.
Judge Abdul Sattar Birqdar, spokesman for the Supreme Judicial Council, said that "the Court of Inquiry on the issues of integrity in the resumption of Rusafa transferred the assistant director general of Iraqi Airways to the Criminal Court after recording his confessions after being accused of financial corruption."
"The defendant is extorting the Arab companies wishing to obtain an agency to sell Iraqi Airways tickets by agreeing to the amounts of money for this agency," Berkdar said in a statement received by Al-Mada.
A spokesman for the Judicial Council that "the Court of Inquiry specialized in issues of integrity ratified the confessions of the accused in accordance with Resolution 160 of 1683," noting that "the defendant was referred to the Specialized Criminal Court of integrity issues in order to try him for the crime committed."
The Integrity Commission recently revealed the arrest of the assistant director general of Iraqi Airways, at his office in the company's headquarters in Baghdad.
