MOSCOW (Reuters) - The formation of a new "border security force" in Syria is opposed to Russia's interests, the head of Russia's State Duma Defense Committee Vladimir Shamanov has said.

Shamanov said in an interview with "Novosti": "The practices of the United States, which leads the international coalition against the organization," Daash, "directly contradict with the interests of Russia in Syria."

"In cooperation with our partners, we will take measures to stabilize Syria."

Earlier in the day, the Washington International Alliance against "Daash" in Syria for the formation of a new security force to deploy on the Syrian border with Turkey and Iraq and the eastern Euphrates, and that the force will include 30 thousand fighters and will be under the leadership of the "Syrian Democratic Forces."

The United States is providing large arms support, training and field coverage to the Syrian Democratic Forces coalition, the Kurdish People's Protection Unit and the Kurdish Democratic Union.

Damascus accuses the alliance of violating Syria's sovereignty over its operations on Syrian territory without prior permission, killing civilians and supporting terrorist groups, and criticizing the cooperation relations between the "Syrian Democratic Forces" and the US military in the north of the country.
