The thirteenth session of the Union of Parliaments of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states opened in Tehran on Tuesday morning.
The two-day conference will be attended by presidents and assistant presidents of parliaments of 44 Islamic countries.
The first and second days of the conference were held on Saturday and Sunday for the meetings of the various committees, including the Permanent Palestine Committee and a consultative meeting between the secretaries-general of the parliaments.
The conference also discussed consultative meeting of the Arab Group, the Specialized Committee for Political Affairs and Foreign Relations, the Commission on Human Rights, Women and Family Affairs, the Permanent Specialized Committee for Legal and Cultural Affairs, the Dialogue of Civilizations and Religions, and the Permanent Committee for Economic Affairs and Environment.
