[rtl]The United Nations said on Tuesday that more than 22 million people are in need of aid in Yemen, where the threat of famine from the Saudi-US aggression is increasing.[/rtl]
[rtl]A new report by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said 22.2 million Yemenis (76 percent of the population) needed assistance, up 1.5 million over the past six months.[/rtl]
[rtl]The risk of starvation is increasing as 8.4 million people suffer from hunger, compared with 6.8 million in 2017, the report said.[/rtl]
[rtl]This figure includes more than half of the country's provinces, of which 72 are among the 95 most at risk of starvation.[/rtl]
[rtl]The report added that more than 1,500 schools in the country have been damaged or completely destroyed by the raids of the coalition of aggression on Yemen.[/rtl]
[rtl]Yemen has suffered from deteriorating economic and health conditions since the beginning of the US-Saudi aggression on Yemen in March 2015. The aggression was targeted simultaneously with the imposition of an economic siege on the infrastructure, thousands of houses, public and private buildings, hospitals, schools and roads.[/rtl]
