    The Minister of State for Defense, the country, that his country reached an agreement with the United Kingdom, the establishment of a joint operation fleet; to ensure mutual readiness and increased joint actions in the fight against terrorism.

    Khalid bin Mohammed al-Attiyah, deputy prime minister, said in a speech at the British Defense Studies Institute (RUSI) in London, published by Qatar News Agency, that "it was agreed to establish a joint operation fleet between Qatar and the UK, And increase joint actions in the fight against terrorism and the development of strategic efforts towards stability in the region and beyond. "

    He added: "This fleet will play a vital role in protecting the atmosphere during the events of the World Cup 2022, which will be hosted by the State of Qatar, despite the efforts of some to thwart this hosting."

    Al-Attiyah said that his current visit to London "comes within the framework of efforts to develop and strengthen our joint strategic military relationship."

    The minister pointed out in the same regard to the signing of an agreement with Britain, on December 10 last, to buy 24 warplanes Typhoon.

    In his address to the Gulf crisis, which began on June 5, following the severing of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt ties with Doha, claiming its "support for terrorism," which Qatar strongly denies, amid regional and international calls to end the crisis and direct dialogue between the parties.

    Al-Attiyah said that the countries of the blockade "tried to underestimate the people of Qatar." He added: "Measuring the size of a country is not this way, we measure it by the contributions of the state towards the renaissance of humanity."

    He stressed that "Qatar has spared no efforts in its war to combat extremist ideology and eliminate terrorism in all its forms."

    He added that his country "provided operational and technical support to its allies and joined the fight to ensure that all groups that violate international law, commit grave human rights violations and act against the terror of societies are brought to justice."

    Al-Attiyah arrived in Britain on Monday for a three-day visit.
