The Minister of Planning, Salman Al-Jumaili, discussed with Saudi King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud ways to coordinate cooperation between the two countries.
This came during a meeting with the Saudi monarch, in Riyadh, Thursday, «Jumaili», which is also the head of the Iraqi side in the Coordination Council between the two countries.
The Saudi Press Agency said that the meeting witnessed "the review of bilateral relations and the importance of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council in developing and enhancing cooperation between the two brotherly countries in various fields."
Al-Jumaili arrived in Riyadh on Wednesday on a visit to Saudi Arabia to promote economic and investment cooperation within the coordination council between the two countries.
Al-Jumaili said in a statement on Wednesday that the visit aims at opening the horizons of trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as signing memorandums of understanding in several fields.
Relations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia have improved in recent months after decades of tension between the two countries following the invasion of Kuwait by the former Iraqi regime in the early 1990s.
In October, Iraq and Saudi Arabia formed a council on joint coordination between the two countries in the economic and investment fields.
