    [ltr]Follow up of Mawazine News[/ltr]
[ltr]The German government spokesman announced that it had decided to stop exporting arms to the coalition of aggression on Yemen.[/ltr]
[ltr]Steinh Zeibert said the Federal Security Council does not currently grant licenses to export weapons "incompatible with the results of exploratory talks" on the formation of a coalition government between the Christian Alliance - which belongs to Chancellor Angela Merkel - and the Social Democratic Party.[/ltr]
[ltr]"The German government will no longer grant permits to export arms to these countries as long as they participate in the war in Yemen," he said.[/ltr]
[ltr]The three-year-old offensive alliance includes Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Sudan and Saudi Arabia along with Senegal.[/ltr]
[ltr]Human rights reports indicate that coalition raids have caused many deaths and injuries among Yemeni civilians and have driven many to flee their villages and towns.[/ltr]
[ltr]In 2016, the German government halted arms exports to 10 countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.[/ltr]
[ltr]The new decision comes days after the German defense minister pledged to support the arming of the Jordanian army with 130 million euros this year.[/ltr]
