    Shiite parties have criticized attempts by Sunni forces to postpone the elections on time and called it "perjury." These parties warned of the postponement efforts, and questioned the legality of resorting to secret ballot to determine the date of elections.
    Thursday's session was unable to end the debate over the timing or vote on the two proposals put forward by the Sunni forces. The first proposal to postpone the vote for a period of not more than a year, while the other proposal to suspend the elections in the Sunni provinces until the completion of the return of displaced persons and rehabilitation of liberated areas. 
    In response to Thursday's meeting, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Hammam Hamoudi pledged to reveal the names of deputies and entities seeking to block the holding of elections, calling for a vote on the holding of elections on time. 
    "Any postponement of the elections will introduce a constitutional vacuum in the country," Hammoudi said in a statement. "The manipulation of constitutional time is a betrayal of the people and an oath to which the people's deputies have sworn."
    He called on parliamentarians to "take an official position that preserves the legitimacy of the democratic process by voting on the conduct of elections on time," pledging to "reveal the names of the deputies and entities that will block the election." 
    In turn, Vice President Nuri al-Maliki, throwing the ball in the court of parliament by voting on the postponement of the elections as "unconstitutional", saying that the move of those wills broken elections , "perjury." 
    Maliki confirmed, during a press statement following the parliament session on Thursday, said that "the elections opens the way for Iraqis to elect their representatives in the coming of age stage Construction and stability, "pointing out that" obstacles put in front of this goal is perjury and crossing the future aspirations of all Iraqis.

    In the same context, the parliamentary bloc of Virtue refused to postpone the elections, warning of the repercussions of security and risk the political process in the event of insistence on postponement. 
    The head of the bloc Ammar Tohma said that "Article (56) of the Constitution provided for determining the duration of the electoral cycle of the House of Representatives four calendar years beginning with the first session and ends at the end of the fourth year, and committed the same article to elect the new Council of Representatives 45 days before the end of the session Election campaign. "
