    US Vice President Mike Bens on Friday left Washington for the Middle East, where he will meet Egyptian, Jordanian and Israeli leaders, but will not meet with Palestinian officials angered by US President Donald Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
    Penn's plane, accompanied by his wife Karen, took off Friday evening from the Andrews airbase in Washington, DC, and Bens's visit was not canceled despite the risk of "closing" federal administrations that overshadow the administration if Congress fails to reach a temporary budget resolution.
    "The vice president's meetings with the leaders of Egypt, Jordan and Israel are part of the national security of America," said spokeswoman Elissa Farah, noting that the trip was going "as expected."

    "US Vice President Mike Bens will visit the Middle East for talks with the leaders of Egypt, Israel and Jordan even if the US government closes its doors, because this visit is necessary for US national security," White House leaders said Friday.
    "The vice president's meetings ... are an integral part of national security and the diplomatic objectives of the United States, so the vice president will travel to the Middle East as planned," said Alissa Farah, a spokeswoman for Bens.
     
    Analysts predict that the Pence tour will be very difficult, especially since it has been preceded by a series of US punitive measures, both against the Palestinian Authority through the freezing of financial aid to it or the right of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

    "Trump's administration seems to prefer to pursue a policy of continued pressure and this, of course, could be counterproductive to the peace process."

    Pens is expected to meet today in Egypt. President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is expected to meet to highlight the motives of the US decision to declare Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, which is expected to translate into a fait accompli by moving the US embassy to it by 2019.

    It is also expected that according to analysis, Bens al-Sisi on what is known as the "deal of the century."

    This will be the second Jordan Lapeld in a penny tour, then went to "Israel".

    The visit was postponed because of the wave of protests triggered by President Trump announced his decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of "Israel".
