    The Iraqi Ministry of Transport, said that the contract is the first of its kind, and entails the task of collecting fees for transit of Iraqi airspace to all airlines in transit for the provision of administrative services to Iraq, according to (Iraqi News Agency).

    The Ministry of Transport, the conclusion of this contract came to provide safe and regular air transport, as well as its contribution to the recovery of the Iraqi economy.

    It is worth mentioning that the rate of traffic through Iraqi airspace has increased significantly after the lifting of the warning by the FAA in addition to the geographical location of Iraq, which attracts all the Gulf countries and the region.

    Earlier, the Ministry of Transport had hoped for revenue of up to $ 5 million a month from the use of Iraqi airspace.

    Iraq seeks to withdraw from Chapter VII of the oil-for-food program and to ease the international sanctions against Baghdad, which has helped to expand the passage of aircraft through Iraqi airspace, and strengthen the resources of the state treasury.

    The "Iraqi Transport" earlier, the reception of the country's airports to more than 10 million passengers in 2017, the number of trips exceeded 100,000 flights.

    Last week, the authorities of the central government of Kurdistan and the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region reached an agreement under which the airports of Erbil and Salmania would be subject to the Iraqi civil aviation authority law and all regulations and regulations issued by the aviation authority.
