Organization of Trade Development of Iran confirmed that Iraq imports 99 percent of its needs, indicating that it is estimated at about 50 billion dollars.

"Iraq is one of the best export markets for Iran," said Mahdi Najat Nia, director of the Iraqi market at the Iranian Trade Development Organization. "One of the reasons for Iran's low share in the Iraqi market is that the Iranian people and producers do not have sufficient information about the potential of the Iraqi market."

"Iraq imports 99 percent of its needs and is estimated at 50 billion dollars, a consumer country in all fields," Najat Nia said. "Iran can export goods to Iraq at a maximum value of 7 billion dollars."

Iraq imports most of the goods and goods from Iran, Turkey , Jordan and Saudi Arabia, as a result of the almost complete lack of Iraqi national industry.
