The legal expert Tarek Harb said on Saturday that the sale of the electoral card by the citizens does not constitute a legal violation in itself, while it is explained that the citizen will be punished if his card was used in fraud.
Harb said in a statement that "the sale of the electoral card by citizens does not constitute a legal violation in itself, but constitutes a moral violation," noting that "the citizen will be punished if the use of his card in counterfeiting the same punishment of the fraud.
"The penalties in this case may reach up to 10 years or less," the legal expert said.
It is noteworthy that many political parties have talked about the sale of electoral cards to voters in various provinces of Iraq, while exchanged accusations between them to carry out fraud during the upcoming elections.
