The company said in a statement received Alsumaria News a copy of it, "I began today to implement the most important refinery investment in Iraq, the capacity of 150 thousand barrels per day," noting that "the establishment of the refinery would reduce the volume of oil derivatives imported from other countries, in addition to providing the hard currency of the state Due to these imports. "
The company added that "Maysan investment refinery is a milestone in the oil industry investment in Iraq, where will provide high-quality oil derivatives according to the Iraqi market specifications and according to the latest technology world." 

"The refinery project in Maysan is important as a beer in increasing oil products, developing field production and providing jobs," the company said. "The refinery will provide thousands of jobs for the people of the province and will eliminate unemployment completely." 

Maysan Ali Douai, governor of Maysan, attended the project. 

Oil Minister Jabbar Ali al-Allaibi announced on January 4, 2018 that his ministry attaches great importance to the Missan investment project, stressing that the latter is part of the ministry's strategic plans to increase the rates of production of oil derivatives in the country.

The Ministry of Oil on July 25, 2016 laid the foundation stone for the refinery of Maysan investment capacity of 150 thousand barrels per day, indicating that the project is the first economic statement on the land of Maysan and is one of the largest investment projects in the liquidation sector in Iraq. 

On July 9, 2017, Oil Minister Jabbar al-Luaibi instructed the establishment of an integrated oil city in Maysan province, noting that the city will be the nucleus of other projects that contribute to add aesthetic and developmental touches to the province.
