A senior White House official said a memo prepared by congressional Republicans saying there was bias against President Donald Trump at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) would be published on Friday.
The intelligence committee in the House of Representatives is expected to publish the memo after it has already voted in favor of its publication, the official said.
It was not clear whether the memo would be revised before it was published due to national security concerns raised by the FBI or whether it needed to be re-voted because of amendments introduced by Commission Chairman Devin Nyons.
The four-page memo was prepared for the head of the Congressional Intelligence Committee, Devin Nunes, a member of the Republican Trump party.
It accuses, in part, the Department of Justice and the FBI of misusing the surveillance program known as Foreign Intelligence Surveillance in the 2016 presidential campaign. It
is alleged that the FBI monitored a member of the Trump campaign.
The memo says, according to a congressional member, that the FBI has obtained a permit to spy on this member of the campaign, based on unconfirmed accusations against Trump in what is known as the "Russian file."
