The deputy of the Kurdistan Alliance in the Iraqi Council of Representatives, on Monday, that the Prime Minister Haider Abadi has retracted the promise to form a committee to increase the share of the province in the draft budget law for the current year, stressing that Abadi will not increase the share of the region.
The Kurdish blocs in the Iraqi Council of Representatives has reached an agreement with Abadi during a meeting with him in early February, to form a committee to increase the share of the province in the draft law of the Iraqi budget for the year 2018, but the House of Representatives met today to discuss the project without any increase on the share of the region.
In this regard, a member of the House of Representatives on the Kurdistan Islamic Group bloc Salim Shoshki that despite the commitment of the Abbadi to form a committee of Representatives of the Kurds and the Iraqi Ministry of Finance, but he retreated from its formation and does not want to increase the share of the Kurdistan Region of the budget.
He pointed out that Abadi agreed with the Sunni blocs to pass the budget bill without the Kurds, pointing out that this means that he does not want to solve problems and does not pay attention to the demands of the region.
On the position of the Kurdish blocs, Shoshaki stressed that apart from boycotting the sessions of the House of Representatives is not before the Kurds any other option, as he put it.
The most important demands of the Kurds in the draft budget for the year 2018 is to increase the share of the region from 12 percent to 17 percent.
