Deputy President of the Republic Nuri al-Maliki on Sunday, not to interfere in the affairs of the judiciary on the issue of activist Basem Khazal Khashan, who was arrested after accusing local officials in the province of Muthanna corruption.
"Some media outlets circulated a document addressed to the vice president asking him not to intervene in a case before the courts concerning the citizen in the name of Khazal al-Khashan," a statement from Maliki's office said. We confirm that Nuri al-Maliki did not receive any request in this regard. "
The statement added that Maliki "respects the independence of the judiciary and rejects the principle of interference in its affairs, and everything that is issued otherwise is incorrect," calling for "the media to be accurate and to obtain information from official sources." Ending / 25 g
