The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced the establishment of mechanisms and plans to reduce the leakage of foreign labor to the local market, in cooperation with the Federation of Iraqi Industries.
Undersecretary of the Ministry Abdul Karim Abdullah said in a press statement: "The reduction of dependence on foreign labor and the trend towards the operation of local labor, have a significant impact on the stability of society and strengthen the economy and reduce unemployment rates in the country."
He added that "a meeting held with the presidency and management of the Federation of Iraqi Industries to develop mechanisms and plans contribute to reduce the leakage of foreign workers to the country in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and other supporting bodies."
The agent pointed out that "the ministry is in the process of conducting a wide search and surprise in cooperation with the competent authorities for many projects and laboratories to reduce the leakage of foreign workers and correct their legal status."
