Iran's ambassador to Iraq, Iraj Masjedi, has announced that his country's permanent exhibition in Baghdad will soon be open.
"The necessary approvals have been obtained from the Iraqi Ministry of Commerce and the Iranian permanent exhibition in Baghdad will soon be open," Ambassador Masjedi said at the opening ceremony of the exhibition of Iranian products in Baghdad on Monday.
The Iranian ambassador expressed his hope that such exhibitions would help develop trade and economic relations between the two countries.
He pointed out that the volume of trade exchange between Iran and Iraq is between 6.5 to 7 billion dollars annually. "The volume of trade and economic exchange between the two countries will reach 12 billion dollars if we add to that the sale of oil and gas, religious tourism and technical and engineering services."
He expressed the hope that the trade volume between the two countries will reach at least 10 billion dollars annually. "At present, there are 10 border points for trade exchange between the two countries officially."
For his part, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce Walid al-Moussawi expressed his hope that the supply of Iranian products will not be limited to these exhibitions which are held for several days and that a permanent Iranian exhibition will be held in Baghdad.
He explained that the presence of the Iranian permanent exhibition allows Iraqi traders and businessmen to be in constant contact with their Iranian counterparts, who will have such conditions in return.
Al Musawi expressed satisfaction with the quality of the products presented in this exhibition. He pointed out that this exhibition is attended by more than 120 companies on an area of 3 thousand square meters for a period of 3 days, where the participating companies will present their products and possibilities in various fields including construction materials, food and industry, cement, The automobile industry and iron.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce stressed the government's approach in developing economic, trade and industrial relations with all countries of the world and the region, especially Iran.
