Security expert Safa al-Aseem warned on Sunday that the United States intends to increase its troop numbers in Iraq in the coming period, adding that it will try to use a "redoubled" paper to justify its presence.
"The United States is trying to increase its military presence in Iraq and prolong its presence as much as possible," al-Asam said in a statement to Al-Maaloumah, adding that it would "destabilize Iraq through the use of a renewed excuse as a pretext to stay."
"The US administration will continue to create excuses and false arguments in the coming days in order to justify its military presence," he added, noting that "the American presence has political objectives and not only military."
The spokesman for the so-called "Arab Nineveh tribes," Muzahim al-Hewitt revealed on Saturday to submit a request to the Sunni "official" to the US government on sending US troops to oversee the upcoming elections, stressing that the American side agreed to their request. Ending / 25
