"The new measures to prevent the arrival of supplies and funds for North Korea's activities in developing nuclear weapons effectively target all vessels currently used by the state to circumvent international sanctions," Treasury Secretary Stephen Menochin said Friday.
In a statement to the White House, Menuchin said the current economic sanctions were having a major impact on North Korean weapons programs and that with the new sanctions, the total sanctions on trade with North Korea would rise to 450.
"It is very effective, we will do everything possible to stop such transfers from one ship to another," he said.
