Asaib Ahl al-Haq warned on Tuesday of a "long-term" US strategy to weaken the Iraqi army, indicating that strategy includes not arming the army with sophisticated weapons.
"The United States is planning a long-term strategy that began in 2003, aimed at controlling Iraq's military capabilities," said Mahmoud al-Rubaie, a member of the movement's political bureau. "Everything that comes out of the American side comes within the framework of achieving the strategy Aimed at weakening the Iraqi army and making it unable to defend itself. "
"The United States is not trying to arm Iraq with planes and tanks at the beginning of the war," he said. "The United States is trying to make the Iraqi army dependent on it and carrying out its orders."
"Iraq could have obtained the Russian S-400 air defense system , but the United States has prevented it from taking Iraq as a conduit for its aircraft, maintaining Israel's security and implementing its plans against other countries," al-Rubaie said. Ending / 25 n
