[ltr]The head of the Iraqi oil marketing company (SOMO), Ali Nizar, announced on Wednesday the development of the special Somo platform for the sale of crude oil at auctions, while revealed that the company is considering an offer to put crude in an auction through the agency Argos.[/ltr]
[ltr]"The State Oil Marketing Company is developing its own platform to sell its crude by auction," Nizar told reporters at a conference in Berlin, according to Reuters news agency.[/ltr]
[ltr]"The logic of the auction is to sell limited quantities, as soon as there is a chance from the reality of our study of the market to make more money for each barrel and to win new market shares, we will move forward with that," he added.[/ltr]
[ltr]"Sumo is considering an offer to auction crude through an Argos agency," he said.[/ltr]
[ltr]Sumo began selling Basra crude through an auction on the Dubai Mercantile Exchange in April.[/ltr]
