NATO: Moscow's comments on its new weapons do not worry Washington
NATO Secretary-General Rose Gutmuller said on Friday that Russian President Vladimir Putin's comments on new weapons were not a problem and Washington was not worried.
"It is not right to talk about the possibility of intercepting Russian missiles with the US missile shield," said Rose Gutmuller.
"We have heard exciting news from Moscow, new statements on nuclear weapons, I would say first that it is not a problem and Washington does not worry," Gutmuller said.
"It is not correct to say that US defense weapons can intercept new Russian weapons," she said. "The US missile defense system was created not to counter the Russian missile system."
"Air defense systems (S-400) are not integrated with NATO's air defense systems," Gutmuller said. "This should be taken into consideration when NATO countries buy these systems from Russia."
